CHESTER, W.Va. — Jim and Debbie (Shroades) Durham are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary today.
The couple were married April 3, 1971 at the United Methodist Church in Chester by the Rev. Randall Prince.
They have two children Brooke (Nick) Ripple of Nashport, Ohio, and Ian (Sarah) Durham of Coraopolis, Pa., and three grandchildren, Ava and Kyla Ripple and Calder Durham. The fourth Durham grandchild is expected in August.
Jim was employed by the Quaker State/Shell plant in Newell for 40 years before retiring in 2012. Debbie was an independent contractor with Home Interiors and Gifts for 30 years, then was employed by Hancock County Schools as a classroom aide for seven years before retiring in 2015.
The couple enjoys being with family and friends and they also love to travel together.
