BUCKTOWN — The new streaming series “Ripple Effects” starring Elizabeth Moss will begin filming scenes in Bucktown this week.
Film crews will be working in the neighborhood Aug. 6-7.
The series is based on the 2013 best-selling novel “The Shining Girls” by Lauren Beukes. Emmy-award winner Moss, best known for her role “The Handmaid’s Tale” on Hulu, will play a Sun-Times reporter who hunts down her would-be killer, according to Screen Magazine.
To make way for essential vehicles and equipment, no parking will be allowed at the following locations:
- Both sides of Wood Street between North and Pierce avenues. (No parking from 9 a.m. Friday to 9 a.m. Saturday)
- South side of North Avenue between Wolcott Avenue and Paulina Street (No parking from 5 p.m. Friday to 3 a.m. Saturday)
Ripple Effect productions will also have intermittent street control at the following locations:
- Wood Street between North and Pierce avenues (from 9 p.m. Friday to 2 a.m. Saturday)
- North Avenue between Wood and Hermitage (from 9 p.m. Friday to 2 a.m. Saturday)
The Chicago Film Office and the Chicago Police Department will with the production team to ensure a safe and positive filming experience, officials said.
