Jennifer Smitherman and her colleagues from AOA Signs in Yadkinville had a well-marked booth at this year’s Showcase Yadkin Business Expo.
After all, they work for a sign company.
“It’s marketing 101 to be here,” Smitherman said of her company’s presentation.
She and colleagues Amber King, a graphic designer, and Ashley Loeser, an estimating specialist, planned to network with fellow business presenters at the expo and hoped to get their firm’s name out there with attendees.
The Yadkinville sign company has been in operation since 1953 and does both interior and exterior sign design, production and installation. AOA Signs joined 21 other businesses and organizations setting up booths at The Yadkin Center on Sept. 16. The expo was organized by the Yadkin County Chamber of Commerce.
“It’s a great opportunity for people to learn more about our Yadkin County businesses,” said Lisa Drum, chairperson of the Yadkin County Chamber of Commerce.
Attendees were given a roster of booths and could enter to win one of many abundant gift baskets after checking off that they had visited each exhibitor.
At the Southland Trucking booth, President Jason Smith and Communications Director Jennifer Cummings said they had a dual interest in representing the Boonville company at the event.
“We’re always looking for customers and employees,” Smith said.
