She is an Oscar-winning actress who has made it her primary mission to eradicate the sidelining of women and minorities in film and media.
And on Wednesday evening in Bentonville, Arkansas, Geena Davis attended the opening night red carpet and filmmaker reception for the Bentonville Film Festival, from the BFFoundation which she chairs.
The Beetlejuice star, 65, was statuesque in a long sleeved black and white polka-dotted maxi dress.

She complemented this with black heeled shoes and a beige alligator skin purse.
She wore her auburn hair down, and had a delicate pendant necklace on.
The Bentonville Film Festival seeks to promote work championing women, inclusivity and diversity in all aspects of the media.

They were joined by the Bentonville Film Festival’s director of programming, Ashley Edwards.
The research-supported, commercially-focused festival’s founding sponsor is Walmart, and the presenting sponsor is Coca-Cola.

The festival, entering its seventh year, will feature titles including I’m Fine (Thanks For Asking), A Fire Within, Workhorse Queen and The Disappearance of Mrs. Wu.
Another title to be featured is the romantic comedy Falling For Figaro, starring the wonderful Danielle McDonald of Bird Box along with Absolutely Fabulous legend Joanna Lumley.
Thelma & Louise actress Davis, who at 6ft tall was once an Olympic hopeful in archery, also runs the Geena Davis Institute, which works to end unconscious gender bias in media.
Geena won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress in 1988 for the film The Accidental Tourist, opposite William Hurt.
