Halo Subreddit Enters Lockdown After Toxic Backlash Against Halo Infinite Dev

The Halo subreddit is currently undergoing a lockdown period after the fans got a little too heated at Infinite dev 343 Industries.

Halo Infinite isn’t a perfect game. Despite coming to the end of its Beta very soon, the Free-To-Play title isn’t everything fans were hoping for.

While the gameplay is nothing short of phenomenal, there are more than a few issues that players are finding with the game.

Now, as the /r/Halo fan base explodes at a new developer comment, the moderator team is seeing fit to place the whole subreddit on lockdown.

Recently, things have come to a breaking point on the Halo subreddit. After days of extreme negativity, Community Director Brian Jarrard attempted to set the record straight with a lengthy and informative comment about the team’s next moves.

But the Halo community on Reddit did not respond to the message well. Recently, fans exploded at 343 over getting new game modes in Halo Infinite and this was no different.

With the exception of one or two posts, the Halo subreddit is currently a hive of negativity — one that the moderators saw fit to put an end to.

In a new post, the mod team confirms that “the amount of toxicity on the sub from both sides has made it impossible for people to have civil discussions.”

As such, the Halo subreddit is currently on lockdown, with players unable to post at the time of writing.However, you won’t have to wait long to begin posting again, as the subreddit will resume business as normal on Monday.

Hopefully, things will cool down for the time being. After all, we’re already getting word about new fixes coming to Halo Infinite at launch.
