She celebrated her birthday with the man she loves the most.

And Gabourey Sidibe looked seasonally chic in a short polka dot dress for lunch with fiance Brandon Frankel in Los Angeles on Thursday afternoon.

The 38-year-old Oscar-nominated star was certainly riding high on a wave of success as it was announced she’ll make her directorial debut with the thriller Pale Horse, according to Variety.

Gabourey’s darling red mini dress featured a white polka dot print with a brown leather belt wrapped around her waist.

She paired gladiator-style sandals to match a brown patent leather Adidas X Ivy Park bomber jacket from Beyonce’s latest drop, and carried a white purse in one hand.

The Empire star wore a strand of pearls around her neck and cream colored cat-eye shades.

Brandon matched his leading lady in his own blue Adidas coat, paired with jeans and a tie-dye tee.

The couple made sure to protect themselves and others amid the COVID-19 pandemic by wearing face masks.

And while the pair celebrated her birthday, Gabourey noted she’s ‘super excited’ to take the next big step in her professional career with her directorial debut.

The movie, which is slated to begin filming in the fall, will be ‘co-developed and financed by Gamechanger, a production company and development fund dedicated to projects by and about women, people of color, the LGBTQ+ community and people with disabilities.’

The pair have reportedly been together since May of 2019, when Frankel shared a photo alongside his smiling ‘queen’ in Los Angeles.

‘I’m super excited to work with Gamechanger on my first feature,’ Sidibe said in a statement. ‘This project is a true stand-out and the character of Naia is a badass! Effie and Wellington are powerhouse visionaries and I’m so excited to be able to work with them to create this gripping thriller with complex characters.’

Variety noted the film is about ‘an African American woman named Naia, who is also a celebrated, reclusive author living with multiple sclerosis. As the story progresses, Naia finds herself ensnared in a diabolical mystery when she shelters the man who escaped captivity with her long-missing brother.’
